How does it work?

ArtAds.ca is a site where the owner of a work of art can post it to try to sell it.

The seller simply fills out a form, attaches a photograph of the artwork and that's it. If a potential buyer is interested, he can contact the seller directly.

The seller and the buyer are free to negotiate, make an appointment or make other arrangements. ArtAds.ca takes no commission and charges no fees on sales. The seller and the buyer are the only ones responsible for the transactions.

How much does it cost to become a member?

As of February 15, 2022, it costs $10/year +txt to become a member of ArtAds.ca. The first payment and automatic renewals are done via Paypal.

Membership is still free for people who signed up before February 15, 2022. There is no need for those member to renew annually.

What are the advantages of being a member?

- See the prices asked
- The possibility to write to the sellers
- The possibility to post an unlimited number of ads on the site
- Being able to be contacted about your ads by potential buyer

How much does it cost to post a work?

Members can post ads for free.

Why don't I see any price?

You have to be a member and log in to see the asking price.

Can I receive a notification when a work by an Artist I am interested in is posted?

Yes, there is a 'Notifications' section in your dashboard.

Since January 8, 2023, this service is offered for free to all ArtAds.ca members.

How do I put my ad in the carousel at the top of the Homepage?

When you publish your ad, you will be offered the option at the end of the form. The price is $40 +txt.

How much commission do you take on each sale?

ArtAds.ca does not take any commission on sales. It is up to you to plan the transaction.

Do you offer a guarantee when you buy a piece of art?

Absolutely not. You must feel comfortable about making the transaction at your own risk.

If you are not completely confident, we strongly advise you to deal through an Art Gallery, an Auction House or to consult a art professional as an intermediary.

What is not allowed to sell on the site?

Decorative objects
Antiques, advertising posters,
Works of Unknown Artists
Exhibition catalogs, art books
Souvenirs, examples from Museum Gift Shops
Crafts

I am not in Canada, can I still use ArtAds.ca?

No. The site is reserved for Canadian residents only.
